Patangata Valley

Patangata Valley

Central Hawke's Bay

Patangata Valley is 12 minutes from Waipawa in Central Hawke's Bay and just under 4 hours drive from Wellington.

The safari-style tent sits high on a ridge on Tirohanga Farm - capturing stunning north-west views out over the Hawke's Bay countryside, Tukituki River and the Ruahine Ranges.

The interior of the tent is spacious - containing a luxurious king-size bed and comfortable sitting area. A changing/luggage area at the rear of the tent leads to an ensuite bathroom.

At the front of the tent, a large covered deck includes a well-equipped lean-to kitchen to the side. An outdoor bath on the other side is perfectly positioned to take in the expansive views and setting sun.

Patangata Valley is a place to relax. Toast marshmallows on the outdoor fire. Soak in the outdoor bath. Reconnect with nature and the seasons. Enjoy the heat of the Hawke's Bay Summer, the changing colours of Autumn and the cosiness of a log burning fire in Winter.

  • your hosts

Your hosts at Patangata Valley are Andy, Liv and daughter Francesca.

Andy and Liv bought their farm, Tirohanga in 2017. Tirohanga means 'Place of view' which is very apt for this stunning property overlooking the Tukituki River and Central Hawke's Bay hills.

Andy and Liv both grew up in the rural community of Central Hawkes Bay. They love living so close to the Tukituki River, Pourerere Beach and multiple Hawke's Bay towns -  Waipawa, Waipukurau, Havelock North and Hastings.

They discovered glamping back in 2015 when they were travelling the world. Whilst travelling through Eastern Africa on a safari, they stayed multiple times in a glamping/permanent camp set up. They both loved the African glamping experience and were excited about bringing that style of travel back to New Zealand.

Patangata Valley Glamping is named for the Patangata sub-region of Hawke's Bay and the beautiful valley the site overlooks.
