  • things to do

Lovebird Cottage is a great place to unplug, kick back, and relax. But if you're keen on an adventure - you'll find plenty to do in the region.

Raglan is an artsy town with a thriving art and food scene. Raglan Points is one of the top surf spots in the world and is only 5-10 mins from the town centre (wild coast Ruapuke is 30 minutes away). Activities such as ocean swimming, walking, fishing, mountain biking tracks, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding and rock climbing are all readily available.

For something a bit different, Xtreme Zero Waste offers tours of how they recycle in NZ.

A classic sunset walk on the beach is the best way to wind down in the evenings. Or spice it up and try a sunset cruise on the Wahinemoe Boat around the Raglan Harbour.

Do you love your nature walks? The impressive Bridal Veil Falls is 20 minutes away, and Te Toto Gorge and Karioi Summit Tracks are 35 minutes away.

  • your hosts

Your hosts at Lovebird Cottage are Nadine and Jeff.

Nadine and Jeff, and their two children Faye and Stevie, have lived on the property for a whopping 10 years. Originally from Auckland, the family were looking for more of a country lifestyle with land and the chance to grow organic produce and produce meat, according to the permaculture principles.

Jeff is an electrician specialising in designing/installing solar power and off-grid systems. Nadine is a stay-at-home mum (and a professional cleaner!!) Watching the ‘food forest’ grow over the years has been one of the best experiences. And living near Raglan is the cherry on top as it's so convenient to the township and beautiful coastline.

Lovebird Cottage is nestled down the back of our property, overlooking Parawai Stream. The energy down there is calm, and the bird song is lovely. The cottage is big enough for two people to snuggle in together. It is a love nest and a retreat from the hustle and bustle.  Nadine & Jeff are so excited to share their beautiful spot in the world with others to enjoy.
