Kikitangeo Cabin

Kikitangeo Cabin

Northland

Kikitangeo Cabin is just over 1 hour from Auckland City, and 7 minutes from Wellsford township in Northland.

The one-room cabin is set on the edge of a dam, in a secluded spot surrounded by rolling farmland hills.

Warm and inviting, the cabin has been created with packets of charm and style. It contains a kitchen, lounging and dining space - with a partition wall separating the bedroom area. A barndoor from the main living area slides back to reveal a stunning bathroom. Enjoy a semi-outdoor shower by opening the timber doors to the views.

The large deck is perfect for taking in the serene view of the dam. Absorb the sights and sounds of the farmland surroundings with your evening cheese and wine.

If you feel like exploring, the Northland region has plenty to offer! Head out to the gorgeous Mangawhai region and relish the amazing food, coastlines, and nature reserves.

  • your hosts

Patrece and Greg, alongside their Rottweiler ‘Hudson’ and Fox Terrier ‘Ginny’, are your hosts at Kikitangeo Cabin. Also working on the farm are Gordon and Trish, father and stepmother to Patrece.

The farm has been in Patrece's family since 1872. Gordon (Patrece's father) planted many of the trees on the property so the family feel a special connection to the land.

The stunning coasts, great cafés and markets, beautiful views, and its reasonable distance to Whangarei and Auckland - all contribute to their love for the location.

After hearing about glamping in articles and from family and friends, they decided to build on their beautiful farmland so others can enjoy the paradise they have created.

The word 'Kikitangeo' comes from the name of the farm and the mountain seen from the cabin.
