***Please note that the wood fired bath cannot be used when there is a total fire ban in place***

French Peak Wagon is set on Banks Peninsula, just 1 hour and 10 minutes from Christchurch City and 20 minutes from Akaroa.

The wagon is thoughtfully positioned on the edge of a vineyard with top-notch ocean views. Perfect for couples, the wagon is truly unique accommodation, with every comfort and luxury considered.

The carefully crafted interior includes a queen-size bed facing out to sea, a small seating area and a kitchenette. A shower is separated by a timber divider with a toilet tucked into its own room. Akaroa is only 20 minutes away, so if you want to get out and about, exploring the pretty tourist town is easy to do. Or, if you want to relax, sit in the beautiful gardens on the property, listen to the birds and admire the views. End the day by watching the stars twinkle and come to life with a glass of wine in hand.

  • Your Hosts

Simon, Carolyn and their pet cat Kumara are your hosts at French Peak Wagon.

Simon and Carolyn purchased French Peak in 2021 while living in Singapore. They finally made the move to New Zealand in May 2022, once borders were opened.

The couple love Banks Peninsula - and wine! They had been looking for a joint project. French Peak, with its wagon and barn accommodation, as well as its vineyard and cellar door fitted the bill perfectly.

The greenery, sea and hill views, birds, vineyards and super-friendly people are just some of the things they enjoy about living in this beautiful part of the world. They're looking forward to welcoming guests to enjoy it with them!
