Tia Heights

Tia Heights

Queenstown

Tia Heights is located at Deer Park Heights, the popular Queenstown tourist attraction. It's only 20-minutes drive from the centre of Queenstown in the South Island.

Tia Heights is positioned 500 metres above sea level overlooking the expansive deer park and beautiful Lake Wakatipu. The glamping site is completely tucked away amongst the tussocky hill country on an exclusive part of the property.

A luxurious Belle Tent and outback trailer kitchen and bathroom make up the accommodation. The Belle Tent sleeps two in a comfortable queen-size bed. Chill in the beanbags on a summer evening as the sun sets on the horizon casting everchanging shadows on the surrounding peaks.

A delicious continental breakfast and scenic drive and animal encounter on Deer Park Heights are included with your stay. You can feed and pet the animals - including deer, donkeys, miniature horses, pigs and so much more. If you want to get out and about, a water taxi can pick you up two minutes from the entrance of the farm and take you right to the heart of Queenstown.

  • Things To Do

A stay at Tia Heights includes a scenic drive and animal encounter on Deer Park Heights farm (usually valued at $55). Watch, feed and pet the animals, or stroll walkways and have picnics in the park. You can also check out the spots where famous movies like Lord of the Rings were made, or simply admire a 360-degree view of the Wakatipu Basin.

Head down to the lakefront in Kelvin Heights and go for a swim or water taxi to Queenstown Central. The town offers markets on Saturday mornings, plenty of shops, a golf course, and lots of scenic walks along the lakeside.

Wye Creek Track is a gorgeous hike up the Remarkables through waterfalls and native bush. Explore the Jack's Point Track and make your way to Arrowtown for lunch and take in the town's history. A 15-minute scenic drive from Arrowtown takes you to Gibbston Valley. Enjoy the culture through wine tasting and food delicacies.

If you prefer to stay in your tent, there is a selection of board games to play, including chess/checkers, Yatzy, puzzles and wooden mancala.

  • your hosts

Alenka and John, their children Sophie and Charlie, and their golden retriever - Molly are your hosts at Tia Heights.

The family has lived at Deer Park Heights for four years now. They work for the Mee family, who are the owners and creative force behind this incredible tourist park.

Alenka works part-time as a Digital Marketer for Data Story and raises her two young children. Her husband, John, manages Deer Park Heights farm. Deer Park Heights includes 800 hectares of land, fenced with 1000 Red Deer and 150 Angus Hereford cows. Together, both John and Alenka manage the tourist park side of Deer Park Heights, which is a scenic drive and animal encounter.

They love the property for its elevated views and unique landscape - and love that the animals make the experience extra special.
