Manuka Hut

Manuka Hut

Banks Peninsula

Manuka Hut is located on Banks Peninsula, just 1 hour and 20 minutes drive from Christchurch City and a 5-minute drive to Akaroa.

Nestled among manuka trees, the secluded hut provides a beautiful vista of farmland and the glistening Akaroa Harbour.

The hut, modest yet cosy, is a self-contained space featuring a living area, kitchen, bedroom and ensuite. The large deck, adorned with protruding manuka trees, provides a generous outdoor living space - ideal for unwinding and immersing yourself in the beauty of the surroundings. An outdoor bath on the deck sets the stage for a romantic evening under the manuka canopy and starry night sky.

Tuis, wood pigeons, and bellbirds fill the air with their melodic tunes. The nearby stream adds to the tranquil white noise.

Manuka Hut is the ideal haven for couples seeking a tranquil retreat all within a hop, step and jump of bustling Akaroa.

  • your hosts

Your hosts at Manuka Hut are Sue and David, and their companion, Beaudy the black labrador.

Sue and David have had a remarkable 35-year history on this land. The property was once a deer farm with a quaint cottage, and prior to that, a dairy farm. Now in retirement, they savour the serene beauty of the lush surroundings and the captivating Hills Harbour.

Sue and David extend a warm welcome, inviting you to relish your stay at Manuka Hut.
