Koru Kabin

Koru Kabin

Coromandel

Koru Kabin is a short 12-minute drive from Tairua in the Coromandel. It's a 3-hour drive from Auckland City (this will become just over 2 hours once State Highway 25A re-opens).

The little off-grid cabin is set on a private spot surrounded by native bush. The mesmerising vistas stretch as far as the eye can see - to the Aldermans Islands, Shoe and Slipper Islands, Mount Paku, and the glowing Tairua township.

The interior of the cabin consists of a bedroom area with a queen-sized bed, a fully equipped kitchen and lounge area, and a wood burner.

The cabin has a warm and cosy ambience, with lots of light on a sunlit day. Huge glass windows connect you to the natural world outside.  As you walk onto the spacious deck, you'll find a sunken outdoor bath - perfect for a relaxing soak before bed.

Whether it's the magical sunrise or the clear view of the full moon, the ever-changing landscape will captivate you at Koru Kabin.

  • your hosts

Your hosts at Koru Kabin are Kerry, Katie, Indy, Mila and their canine companion, Cookie.

Having called this property their home for the past two years, they have fallen in love with its breathtaking views and serene surroundings.

Katie is a naturopath, teacher and St John’s volunteer first responder (who can look after any first aid needs if required whilst at Koru Kabin!) Kerry is an art director and former stuntwoman and brings her great sense of style to the Kabin design.

The name 'Koru Kabin' holds a significant meaning. As part of Koru Ridge, the place symbolises 'a space to unfurl' and discover new beginnings. Katie and Kerry believe that their Kabin serves as a natural remedy to the demands of modern life, offering a sanctuary where guests can reconnect with themselves and their surroundings.
